I never knew that you need to maintain a cutting board with oils and wax. But the good news is you can bring then back to new. I am in the process of restoring one right now. Then I will sand it down using the correct grits of sandpaper, then I will seal it with the oils, and once dry put a wax on it. So, if you have one, make sure to take the proper care of it.

I forgot to update this. I first started with wood glue and glued the two small cracks I had in the side and let it dry. Next, I went and bought a couple of different grit sandpaper, then took it outside and sanded the whole thing down. This removed a bunch of cut marks in the board. Then I applied the oil and worked it into the wood and let it sit. Then I applied the wax and worked it in as well. This should seal everything in and waterproof it for when you have to lean it in the sink. It's like a brand-new board now. After all you are just dealing with wood.
