Thoughts on the North Dakota pipeline

Let's see here. Might have review the evidence...............

No there were a few notable ones:

  1. The one where we couldn't figure out if @jmanz was really a man or a woman.

  2. The one where we found a screenshot of a porn video and swore it was @C Pav.

  3. The one where @ndboarder posted from an Apple computer.

  4. The one where @ryanator solved the equation for time travel (still haven't see him since).

#3 certainly occurred.  The old MBP - that was a lot of money for a terrible experiment in hindsight.  I don't think I made it more than a couple months with OS X before it just became a way overpriced Windows laptop  (before current employment too)

After 10 years do you get the windows logo tattooed on your right shoulder? Or at least a plaque?

Yes, I get an acrylic statue type deal.  No thanks on the tattoo - I have yet to think of anything important enough that I want to branded with it for life.  I mean I've seen a guy with the autobot and decepticon logos, one on each calf.  Yeah, I liked transformers - no I don't want to be branded with them for life or still be representin' when I'm 90

or still be representin' when I'm 90
But then again your would be in a wheel chair, so you would be somewhat a robot. Old people roll out.

Two leaks.

Two barrels, or 84 gallons (320 liters), spilled due to a leaky flange at a pipeline terminal in Watford City on March 3, according to the state's Health Department. A flange is the section connecting two sections of pipeline. Oil flow was immediately cut off and the spill was contained on site. Contaminated snow and soil were removed. No people, wildlife or waterways were affected, according to the department's environmental health database.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A judge's ruling that might open the door for at least a temporary shutdown of the disputed Dakota Access pipeline surprised the industry that hailed the project as a "game changer" for North Dakota oil.

A New Problem for Keystone XL: Oil Companies Don't Want It

Keystone XL is facing a new challenge: The oil producers and refiners the pipeline was originally meant to serve aren’t interested in it anymore.Delayed for nearly a decade by protests and regulatory roadblocks, Keystone XL got the green light from President Donald Trump in March. But the pipeline’s operator, TransCanada Corp., is struggling to line up customers to ship crude from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast, say people familiar with the matter.
I am not surprised. ND was not ready for this large of an oil boom. About the time they got ready for it, it left. This would had been big when Crude was in the $100+ barrel. But not worth it anymore. Just like all the water and sewer projects they started because they thought these towns were going to grow, but instead everyone left.

il prices have been dropping since the industry’s boom in 2014, and with that decline comes economic uncertainty for oil towns like Dickinson, North Dakota. Over 180 rigs drilled at the nearby Bakken oil field two years ago; only 27 remain active today. The slowdown has taken its toll on all sectors of business, from the housing market to hotel occupancy. Inside Energy’s Emily Guerin reports.
