JAMESTOWN (AP) - A woman whose body was found near the railroad tracks here likely fell or jumped from the train, police said.

The body of Katie Michelle Johnson, 19, of Cooperstown, was found near the tracks about 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

BNSF Railway notified police about the body.

Sgt. LeRoy Gross said Johnson had been at a house party on Friday in Sanborn, about 20 miles east of Jamestown.

"We do know she left that party and got on a stopped or slow-moving train," Gross said. "We know she rode through the city of Jamestown and the train did not stop in Jamestown. She either fell or jumped to get off the train."

Gross said the train was traveling at least 35 mph.

Gross said an autopsy is planned.
