Thoughts on the North Dakota pipeline

How do we know these spills aren't being caused by insiders against oil or anti oil people some how sabotaging the lines? Just seems ever since the big anti oil talk started these spills have become more and more.

Wow, this was a long ass thread.

So this has finally come to a close the last few days. But I have a question. What's with all the talk on social media with people saying "The oil boom is back" etc. I really don't think this pipeline is going to make the boom happen again. I get a vibe that everyone thinks that because the pipeline is going in that ND will be back to what it once was during the boom. I think it will provide a few new jobs, but in fact take away many that were originally there, or currently there. No more hauling oil trucks, or rail cars. Plus the price of crude is even down today. I don't think this pipeline being completed will change anything economy wise for ND.

I haven't heard many people saying the boom will be back because of this. The more oil we produce will result in more of a surplus causing the prices to go down. I think the next major bump will come due to a conflict with another country. Iran or North Korea will make it run up. I really don't think the pipeline will cause a boom by any big measure.

You didn't think they were going to give up that easy did you?
But if you go up and read my post about my suspicion of all these sudden leaks and it all makes sense.

They will go to any lengths to keep up the fight in their favor.  Even many government entities in the passed have been know to  cause issues (false flag attacks) to get the point across to sway things their way.  Here's another way to do it; Find one spot in the pipeline, any spot concealable, break open a portion and pour cement (lots of it) in the pipeline.

Because of the Syria attack, your gonna see oil go up now.

National Guards were there for a while. I heard some interesting accounts.

Was this the most contentious topic ever discussed on Fluxoid?

No there were a few notable ones:

  1. The one where we couldn't figure out if @jmanz was really a man or a woman.

  2. The one where we found a screenshot of a porn video and swore it was @C Pav.

  3. The one where @ndboarder posted from an Apple computer.

  4. The one where @ryanator solved the equation for time travel (still haven't see him since).
