why are you thinking of moving off your Synology? Missing features? Multiple access points for better coverage?
Ya that's kind of the way I see it as well. There should always be an opt out button though.I see.... https://community.ui.com/questions/Update-UniFi-Phone-Home-Performance-Data-Collection/f84a71c9-0b81-4d69-a3b3-45640aba1c8b
Meh... who cares is my answer I guess. Tracking anonymized performance data, so I definitely don't care. The option to opt out probably should've been there at the start, but I still don't really care.
HAHA, I just came here to post it, beat me by 18 minutes. Ya a lot of people have been waiting for it. I am gonna read up on it. Seems like an all-in-one solution.Maybe this new device can start your UniFi network if you choose to go that route @nodle
Yeah, but how many do most people need - especially as a starting piece. I'm not surprised. It would be nice if it was PoE+ switch though, but my assumption is that they figure if anyone needs to expand beyond the one AP would need a bigger switch anyway, and would get a PoE+ switch at that point. Most any standalone wifi routers I had previous to my current setup only had 4 ports. I had to add extra switches in my network area and such.Geez only a 4 port gigabit switch?
You know what needs to be done then Sir...Saw that Ubiquiti has been busy since I last checked in and they have a fancier new Dream Machine Pro, a new camera option, doorbell option, access solutions, a security footage viewing device, a pro NVR ... a few new goodies that are tempting
