I am just backing up all my stuff to my server. But transfering over 400gigs over 100mbps is just taking way to long' date=' I just want to have the convience of not having to wait hours for it to complete.[/quote']That's a pile of data.
It almost looks to me like the uplink port is the only one capable of 1000/100? Maybe that's what your looking for though? I was hoping to get one where all the lan ports were 1000/100/10.I was looking at this one. I like their metal case products.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16833122128

You sound just like me. It's tough it's not that I really "Need" new stuff, but their website is like looking at a Sears catalog at christmas time when you were a kid. Sounds like you are really into your music quality. How many gigs of music do you have now? I'm pushing almost 200gigs of MP3s now. I've heard alot of people talk about the M-audio cards, they are suppose to be deluxe.Ya should speed things up a little. I move some fairly chunky wav files around. 96k 24 bit wav files take up mundo space. I'm going to designate a central unit that has a M-audio card as sole audio cd/wav player. Gonna covert all my cd's and albums to wav and run playlists and what have you. Ordered up a couple of 250 gig hitachi drives as well to fit it all on. There should be a 10 step program to get us off the newegg addiction.

I have around 80 vinyl records that I want to convert to 96k 24 bit wav. The top end sound, really silky in that format (it's almost a 1:1 copy of the vinyl without the cleaning hasles and wear. Usually takes about 1.5 gigs per album. Next to convert the CD's to wav (16 bit 44.1k) which weigh in around 500 megabytes per CD. Ya the M-Audio aren't too bad.Ya should speed things up a little.
