Fire up OS X on that beast  Ok seriously, I guess a game server is respectable, how about turning it into a PVR, if you have TV input anyhow....

One of our IT guys told me that looking at porn could cause pink eye. I asked him if he was speaking from experience. He stated that he was immune by now.

Extra Computer Uses

A) Install linux (no GUI, straight shell and text editing) setup Bind DNS server, dual NIC, dhcpd server.  Set all routers to act strictly as repeaters/hubs, and use this box to control all network traffic.  Also setup other fun servers, network and hardware monitors, etc...

B) Install Win2k3 server and setup a domain, with roaming profiles, and all Active Directory type goodies.

I vote for A more than B

I actually thought about this, with either smoothwall or ipcop, but i have no need for one since i have a nice router that handles everything perfect. Plus if i want QOS tomato has it already built in etc.

True, but it's the learning experience of the whole setup that intrigues me.  You can put some linux on there and then we'll setup some vpn tunnels between our servers, and pull davec's into the network as well... Make our own damn Siprnet or whatever it is the government doesn't want to share with us.

I like how you can run smoothwall off a CF card too using a IDE adapter. The VPN tunnels intrigue me, basically a small network of TOR servers.
