Ok I was in the shower this morning and thought about this. I know everyone has experienced this. Ok you go to take a shower in the morning and you turn your know to Hot or cold, and you try to dial it in. They whole time or at least for the first 5 minuted you spend twisting the dial to try to get that perfect temperature. There are two ways to do this a little lcd where you arrow up or down and set your temp, or a dial with clicks on it and lines like a automobile gauge. You want that perfect temp you had yesterday? Just dial and click it in to your normal spot. There you go same temp all the time. What do you think?

Would be nice. I know you can set a max temp on your shower, but it takes some fiddling (manually taking water temp reading at hottest setting and adjustments made vary depending by manufacturer). If you knew you always wanted a shower at 103 degrees, or whatever, you could adjust until that was the max temp. Then it's just to always turn it all the way up. I believe I've also seen valves you can install that will stop the shower if it gets to hot, I guess a person could use this with a set temp and know when they have it at that temperature. The only flaw I see here is that you may actually have to shut off the shower and such if you do get it too hot. The biggest thing is that I know I take much warmer showers in the cold months than I do in the warmer months, so either method wouldn't really work year round.
I'm certainly for a digital shower thermostat rather than the existing options. Hard to believe nothing like it exists. I guess when I think of this I think of the comparison between older cars where you have a knob that goes from blue to red to set temp. Never have a clue what temp it will really end up at, just play with it until you find the right one. By comparison, I much prefer to be able to set a specific temperature in my car and just let it heat/cool to that temp.

I think I saw this on the DIY channel or something already. They re-modeled a bathroom/shower and put a digital unit in. I remember it being really expensive. Would be sweet.

All I do is turn the water temperature all the way until it's hot; then turn it back all the way to cold (very briefly), then to the middle. From there just a bit of tweaking and presto. Perfect water temperature in 20 seconds.

Yeah it literally probably takes me 10 seconds to find my good temp.

Hey, be thankful you don't have a POS water heater that just doesn't provide enough hot water for me to get a decent long, warm shower. Sucks that I shower second and sucks that out heater is a POS. What's worse is not wanting to get out because it's cold....you just want to stay in the hot shower forever.
