Ok with 2012 approaching I am sure more and more of you will start hearing about it. By I would say mid summer next year it will really start to heat up with books and television talking about it. Then once the fall approaches things will really heat up once we come down the the wire. So I would like to see what members really think will happen? Do you thing the world will end? Will something happen? Or will it just be any ordinary day?

~Something~ will happen.  Whether or not Quezoctol the Chicken Feathered Serpent god will come from the center of the galactic alignment or not remains to be seen.  Certainly there will be a dramatic view in the skies.

The solar flares and coronal mass ejections might not destroy earth, but there is a chance they will knock out (some of) the satellites.

Don't forget about all of the people that made hype about Y2K.

I agree with you about Y2K. You saw all the hype that just got and that was just from man scared about their technology that they created. Now here you have a culture with no technology that can predict things. And it's not just a computer bug this time, it's stuff to do with planets and alignments. Strange don't you think?

I predict that in 5342 there will be a crazy astronomical phenomenon.

By that time, they'll think we had no technology and they will have the technology to find some crazy astronomical phenomenon that we can't.  They will find some strange ancient remnants of an "inter net" hanging in the earths airwaves and sometime in the next few thousand years come across this prediction.  They will not be able to fathom that I could make such a predition, beging looking for what I could possibly have been takling about, find this crazy thing and they will be saying the exact same thing you are Nodle.

The world will not come to an end in 2012. Maybe we'll see a shooting star or some Northern Lights lol.

But don't you find it at all strange that a people from a time when there was no schooling (not that this matters) and no technology. That they were able to predict all of this? I mean it probably wasn't until the last 100 years that we could tell this stuff was going to align etc. I mean you have to find that a little strange don't you?

Of the 15,000 glyphic texts found in the ruins of the Mayan empire, only two mention 2012. Events after 2012 are mentioned by the Mayans, that is strange is it not? It's all marketing propaganda by scientists. They are just trying to make a buck by coming up with theories of the end of the world. They are just snake oil salesmen dude.  Same goes for global warming, they have an agenda and can twist stuff to influence people.
