All I have to say is that there should not be limits or caps on the amount of data a user is allowed to download or upload. I also feel there should be no increase in the cost for more data. I will agree in different prices for the speed you are at but not for the amount of data transmitted.
My reason is it's only data, 1s and 0s, that is not a true physical consumable. Data is created and destroyed with the only way for it to ever become scarce or extinct would be to get rid of computers and technology forever. If carriers can't handle the bandwidth then get with the times and upgrade your crappy infrastructure.
Data caps and data limits for cell phones and internet plans.

Amen. Can you imagine your home ISP implementing data caps?

Tons of ISPs already cap your data, or you have X data usage per month before they start to throttle you during peak hours. Some of the Fargo ISPs actually just recently did away with the caps they've had in place for years (along with boosting speeds from 10 Mb to 50)

I concur, caps are crap. Less corporate bonuses and better infrastructure.
@ndboarder, who do you have in Fargo?

My ISP is CableOne. They used to have a cap on lower rate plans and offered speeds of 1.5,5,10 Mb. A few months ago they dropped the caps and I think now the old packages may still be available, but I am paying less now for 50 Mb than I was for 10. (~$40 i think)
